Robb Wilson

Robb Wilson is a mathematics teacher who works full time as an Educational Technology Consultant for Texas Instruments, Inc.  He provides information, training, and services for educators in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas.  Prior to this position, he was a K-12 Regional Mathematics Specialist for the Texas Rural Systemic Initiative (TRSI) and South Texas Rural Systemic Initiative (STRSI) under the auspices of the National Science Foundation.  Before joining TRSI, Robb served for several years as the Secondary Mathematics Consultant for the Corpus Christi Independent School District and also enjoyed 12 years in the classroom teaching students mathematics at a variety of grade levels.

While growing up, Robb traveled extensively as an “Army Brat” - attending kindergarten and first grade at the American School in Taipei, Formosa.  He received a bachelors degree in Archaeology from the University of Texas in 1976, and after a variety of jobs including work in the oil fields of Texas and Louisiana, he joined the United States Navy.  Following a final three year tour at McMurdo Station Antarctica with the United States Antarctic Research Program, Robb left the Navy to become a teacher and later received a masters degree in education from Texas A&M – Corpus Christi.

Robb has been married to his wife Denell for forty great years.  They have a son, Jacob, who proudly serves his country as a Green Beret in the Special Forces of the United States Army; and a daughter, Katie, a Cardiac and Telemetry Nurse, who is currently a stay at home mom.  Five grandchildren provide daily inspiration to keep Robb’s life interesting.  Robb thinks graphing calculator technology is “cool”, and his favorite subject is Algebra.  He also enjoys photography and collecting 150 million year old fossils from the roadcuts of Texas and Oklahoma.  And, if you know Robb, he will always be glad to tell you that, “Life is good!”
